metaphor: a figure of speech in which a term or phrase is applied to something to which it is not literally applicable in order to suggest a resemblance
stereotype: a widely held but fixed and oversimplified image or idea of a particular type of person or thing.

2 examples of Irony:
1) Sadly, Henry noted the irony that his quest to find and help Pierre, the child warrior of the Resistance, would end in a city that had been a center of maquis uprising and a Gestapo stronghold to squish it. (This means that Henry thought he could just walk right into Europe and find Pierre and get out with no troubles.)
2) A crashed american flier is taken care of from a german province resident.( This is Irony because at this point in time the U.S. and Germans were in a war.)

1) "You cal them 'white lies' do you not." Then Madame said "I have never understood the metaphors of English." (This means that white lies are lies that aren't as bad as dark lies.)
2) He was a package no one wanted to be caught holding. (it is saying that he could be dangerous.)

1) They make fun saying all people from the south are hicks. (That Billy will be the same.)
2) On the train everyone looked at a lady coming on to the train because she had a turban on her head. (This meant she had a romance with a German Solider.)

1) The civilians and family members held lilacs and lipsticks and face powder for the people who were coming back from the camps. (This meant that they cared for the people who were arriving back and celebrated with them.)
2) Francois gave a delicate scarf of Madame's to Henry as a sign of love for him.(It was for his mother.)

Henry has a father who is very critical for anything that Henry does, his dad is always gonna be in his head and always apart of him even though he is dead.His Father is always pushing him but doing it for the best. The conflict starts when a girl name Patsy enters his life, when that starts Henry can't keep her out of his mind. This takes place in Virginia and in England while Henry is fighting in the war. This conflict happens when henry is in Virgina living as a farmer boy. The conflict is solved when Henry gets back from the war and the first time he sees patsy he walks right up and kisses her. Also Henry is always thinking about Pierre, a boy and his mother who took care of him till he went home. The conflict is created when Henry is shot down by a German fighter plane, he is now behind enemy lines and trying to get home. The conflict is solved when he gets back to base and gets home.
External Conflict Paragraph:
Henry is in the middle of the air and German fighter planes shoot out his parachute and breaks his ankle when he lands. This happens because his plane is shot down. The conflict occurs in France and it occurs on Henry's 15th bombing raid which he is worried about because this is when an average bomber gets killed. The conflict gets resolved because Henry is found on the road in the middle of France, a French teacher who sneeks him into the Soviet Union where he gets his broken ankle fixed.

Hitler first started a camp for boys aged between 10 and 14 years the camp set up was called the Jungvolk. The boys had to learn semaphore, arms drill, and take part in two-day cross-country hikes. They also had to learn Nazi dogma and once they passed the necessary tests they were given a special dagger marked "Blood and Honor". The main objective of the organization was to provide Adolf Hitler with loyal supporters. The Nazis were aware that education would create loyal Nazis by the time they reached adulthood. The Hitler Youth had been created for post-school activities and schools were to play a critical part in developing a loyal following for Hitler. Enforcing a Nazi curriculum on schools depended on the teachers delivering it to.
